Refund & Cancellation Policy

The 5-day free trial is optional. Eligible new users may choose to begin with the free trial or purchase a Monthly or Annual membership immediately. If a user chooses a paid membership without using the free trial, billing begins upon successful checkout and that account will no longer be eligible to claim the introductory free trial. No credit card or payment information is required to start the trial. The trial provides limited preview access — it is not a full paid membership.

• No Initial Charge: The trial is completely free for five days. No payment method is collected, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to cancel during the trial.
• Limited Preview Access: Trial access may include limited Library reading (up to three full works), limited solo Game Room sessions (up to three), up to five bookmarks, and up to three total AI-assisted Writing Studio generations. Trial users may view the Gathering Hall and community areas according to the current implementation, but posting, replying, and other community participation are reserved for paid members where participation requires a paid membership. The following are reserved for paid members: unlimited Library access, PDF and Word downloads, community replies and discussion posts, unlimited game access, multiplayer 1-vs-1 duels, and other premium membership functions.
• Trial Expiration: The trial ends automatically after five days. It does not convert to a paid membership on its own, and no card is charged. To continue with full access, you must actively select a plan and complete checkout. Paid memberships are billed via Base44 Payments at $12.99/month (Monthly Plan) or $139.99/year (Annual Plan). The Annual Plan offers a discount compared with paying monthly for twelve months ($155.88).
• Upgrading Before Trial Ends: A trial user may upgrade to a Monthly or Annual membership at any time before the trial expires. Billing begins upon successful checkout, and the paid membership takes effect immediately.
• Paid Membership Features: Both the Monthly Plan ($12.99/month) and the Annual Plan ($139.99/year) provide the same all-access membership. Paid members receive up to 10 AI-assisted Writing Studio generations per day, unlimited Library access, full Game Room access, and the ability to post and reply in community areas.
• Paid-First Accounts: If a user purchases a Monthly or Annual membership without first using the free trial, that account will no longer be eligible to claim the introductory free trial.

You have full autonomy over your account and may cancel your subscription at any time:

• How to Cancel: Log in to your account and open your Manage Membership page to cancel your subscription.
• Access After Cancellation: When you cancel, you will continue to have full access to the sanctuary until the end of your current paid billing period. For Annual members, this means your access continues through the end of your current annual paid period — canceling prevents the next annual renewal while preserving the access you have already paid for. After that date, your access to member-only areas (The Gathering Hall, Writer's Corner, full Library archives) will close, and your card will not be billed again.
• Saved Projects After Cancellation: Canceling your membership does not itself delete your Writing Studio Saved Projects while your account remains. After membership access ends, Saved Projects may be inaccessible until eligible access is restored. If you later resubscribe with the same account, your Saved Projects may become accessible again. Permanently deleting your account is a separate action that removes your private Saved Projects and Studio usage records; see our Privacy Policy for the full account-deletion details.
• Cancellation vs. Account Deletion: Canceling your membership only stops future renewals; it does not delete your account. Deleting your account is a separate action. If you delete your account while you have an active paid membership, we cancel future renewals and complete the deletion once your subscription reaches the end of its current paid period. • Monthly Memberships: Monthly payments are non-refundable once billed, as they provide immediate access to that month's content, community discussions, and digital resources.
• Annual Memberships: If you are billed for an Annual renewal and contact us within 7 days of the charge, we will review your request for a full or prorated refund. Eligibility is subject to manual administrative review; we do not automatically track whether you have downloaded or used premium resources, and each request is considered individually.
• Digital Downloads & Gifts: Free gifts, newsletter resources, and digital worksheets are complimentary and non-refundable.

All payments are processed securely through Base44 Payments. If you believe an error has occurred with your billing or you experience technical difficulties accessing your account, please reach out to us before disputing a charge with your bank. We are committed to resolving any issue fairly and promptly.

This policy has a “Last Updated” date shown at the top of the page. When you complete a paid checkout, we record the version of this policy that is in effect at that time alongside your subscription consent, so the terms that applied to your purchase can be established. If this policy is updated, the new version takes effect for new checkouts from the updated date forward.
