Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Revision Desk?
The Revision Desk is our signature AI-guided feedback tool. You paste your writing, choose your writing type and goals, and receive feedback that explains what could improve and why it matters, while preserving your voice. A detailed review adds highlighted passages with explanations, optional book type and stuck-point details, and possible next steps when you share where you are stuck. You accept, dismiss, or edit every suggestion. Your original writing is never overwritten.
Does the Revision Desk write my assignment for me?
No. The Revision Desk explains suggestions and offers optional revision examples for specific passages. It does not write entire assignments, invent sources or quotations, or promise grades.
Can the Revision Desk detect plagiarism or AI-generated text?
No. We do not offer plagiarism detection or AI detection. We can help with citation formatting, but that is separate from source verification.
What are the next steps in a detailed review?
When you tell us where you are stuck, the detailed review can offer 2 to 3 possible next steps. These are optional guidance based on the excerpt you submitted, not an assessment of an entire book. Pick what fits your characters, plot, and intentions.
What happens to my contact form message?
Your message is saved and emailed to the site administrator for follow-up. It is not posted publicly.
What does the free trial include?
The five-day free trial requires no card and has no automatic charge. It includes member reading and learning resources, 3 quick reviews, 1 detailed review, and 2 Writing Studio uses, and 5 literary games total across the trial. Community boards are read-only: free visitors and trial members can view discussions but cannot post or reply. The trial expires automatically after five days. It remains available now, subject to its existing eligibility rules: you confirm that you are 18 or older, one trial per account, and no new trial while a membership or trial is already running.
How do the literary games work?
The Game Room holds six solo games — Literary Trivia, Word Scramble, Word Challenge, Genre Quest, Poetry & Poets, and Finish the Verse — and the Literary Duel, which is played against one other member. Each game you start uses one game from your allowance — 5 games in total across the trial, or 10 a day on a paid plan — and a game that fails to start costs nothing. The next difficulty recommendation uses up to your five most recent completed rounds in that category — question games and word games adapt separately and can step up or down; completing one round does not guarantee advancement and levels are not permanently unlocked — and you may play that level or one step either side of it, so a round always keeps the level it began at. Every score is worked out on the server. Every game explains itself: How to Play is the room’s own page, linked from the room, from the site footer and from every game card. The daily literary challenge is separate: it is one question a day, free, open to visitors and members alike — today's question can be answered on the home page — and it never uses a game.
How does the Literary Duel work?
The Literary Duel is played against one other member in the Game Room. You open a challenge that any eligible member may accept, or invite one member by name. Both players answer the same five questions in Literary Trivia, Genre Quest, Poetry & Poets or Finish the Verse, twenty seconds a question, after a three-second countdown. An offer stands for two minutes, and both players have thirty seconds from the acceptance to begin. Each player is scored on their own answers, exactly as in a solo round, and both scores are saved beside your other rounds. A duel uses one game from each player's allowance, taken only when the round actually begins — a duel that never begins costs neither player anything and both games are returned. A free trial allows two of its five games to be duels. Word Challenge and Word Scramble cannot be dueled yet.
Can I stop being invited to duels?
Yes. You can dismiss an individual invitation, snooze invitations for half an hour, or switch them off altogether — open challenges stay yours to accept whenever you want one. You can also block a member: they cannot invite you, you cannot invite them, and neither of you sees the other's challenge. A blocked member is never told that you blocked them, and the reason an invitation is refused is never disclosed to the member who sent it. A rematch only happens when both players ask for one.
How does Story Weavers work?
Two members write one original story together in the Game Room, taking turns. One writer offers the story, names it and invites one member by name; the invitation is private between the two of them and lapses after twenty-four hours. Each turn is between 40 and 2000 characters, only the writer whose turn it is may add to the story, and normal writing controls do not allow turns to be overwritten, reordered or deleted. Each writer owns their contributions; account-deletion and privacy requests follow the Privacy Policy rather than a promise of permanent retention or automatic complete deletion. Writers and authorized administrators may access private stories for operation, support and moderation: it reaches the Showcase only when both writers have agreed to share it and a moderator has released it, and either writer can take their agreement back at any time, which removes it from the Showcase at once. Showcase readers must be signed in and age-confirmed; reports flag a story for moderation without automatically removing it. A story uses one game from the writer who offered it — the other writer is never charged — and a free trial includes one introductory Story Weavers session. A story left untouched for six weeks is closed as unfinished without automatically deleting its text, subject to the Privacy Policy.
How do literary tournaments work?
A tournament is a competition in one of the four question games, played over rounds the site schedules with an opening moment and a closing moment. Joining requires the same active trial or paid membership the Game Room needs, and costs no game of its own: each round is played as an ordinary round, charged once by the game. Your standing is the total of your best round in each window, using only rounds the server has already scored inside that window, and ties are broken by how many rounds were played, then by the highest single round, then by name, with tied members sharing a rank. You can step away at any time and keep every round you played.
Who appears on the Game Room leaderboards?
Only members who ask to be. A leaderboard shows a member only while they have switched ranking on in their literary profile AND left their bests and totals shareable; switching either off takes them off every leaderboard at once, and being ranked is not implied by making a profile public. Leaderboards are read from rounds the server has already scored, ranked by best round, with tied members sharing a rank.
Can I see my progress and achievements?
Yes. My Progress in the Game Room shows the games you have played, your accuracy, your best streak and best score, the level each kind of game stands at and how far your recent play is from the next one, your personal best in each game, a row of figures for each of the six games, the badges you have earned and how far you are from the ones you have not, the game allowance still standing, and your finished rounds newest first. A badge is kept once you have earned it. The daily challenge keeps its own record: the days you have answered, and your current run of consecutive days.
Why is my accuracy shown as two figures?
Questions and words count different things, so no combined overall accuracy is displayed. Question accuracy is correct answers divided by questions in measured rounds. Word Challenge counts accepted distinct words out of all distinct words tried, including rejections; Word Scramble counts solved words out of words dealt, including unanswered ones. Percentages divide summed correct counts by their matching summed totals, not scores by questions. Missing or inconsistent measurements are excluded from both sides without changing historical scores; a dash means no valid measurement. Each game also has its own row.
Where is everything in the Game Room?
The Game Room opens on a page for choosing: today’s literary challenge, the six solo games, your level, and a card for each of the room’s other areas. The Literary Duel, Story Weavers, the tournaments, the Showcase and My Progress each keep a page of their own — My Progress also holds the leaderboards — and How to Play is a full page setting out every rule that decides how the room is played, scored and shared. Nothing is hidden in a pop-up you have to close before you can play.
Who can see my literary profile?
Only you and our administrators, unless you decide otherwise. Your progress is private by default. If you turn your literary profile public, other readers can see your display name and biography and whichever parts you switch on — your badges, your bests and totals, or your recent rounds — and you can turn it private again at any time, which closes it at once. Your email address and account details are never shown.
What happens to my writing when my membership expires?
Your saved writing is never deleted when membership expires. You retain access to all your drafts and revision history. You can delete drafts from the draft page and community posts from the community pages. You can request deletion of your revision history or your account through our contact form.
How does billing work?
Monthly membership is $14.99 a month and annual membership is $159.99 a year; subscription checkout and billing are processed securely through Base44 Payments, and TassandraInk never collects or stores your card details. Both are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically — monthly plans every month, annual plans every year — until you cancel, at the recurring rate agreed at checkout unless a future price change is validly applied under the Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy. Membership access is unlocked only after server-side verification of a completed payment. Existing subscriptions and paid-through access are unaffected.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Cancellation stops future renewals while preserving your access through the end of your paid period — your exact paid-through date is shown on your dashboard and on the Membership page. See our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
Will my price change after I subscribe?
Your recurring checkout rate remains your renewal rate unless a future change is validly applied. A new listed price does not itself reprice an existing subscription. Before an affected renewal changes, we will email advance notice stating the new rate and effective date, subject to applicable notice and consent requirements. It may apply only to a renewal on or after that date, never retroactively; earlier renewals remain at the existing rate. You can cancel before a notified change applies.
Can I hold more than one subscription?
No. One active subscription at a time, because two would charge you twice for the same access. While your plan is still renewing, checkout will not start another one; if your plan is canceled but still inside its paid period, the Membership page shows your paid-through date and you can subscribe again, which begins a new plan and a new charge.
Is my writing private?
Yes. Your drafts and revisions are private and owned by you. Only you and our administrators can see them. Sharing writing in the community always requires an explicit action from you.
